Custom Building Process

Typical Hartsock Custom Homes Building Process

I Design:
Many clients come to us with Architectural plans ready, when they do not our design staff strives to assemble all of the things the client has ever wanted in a house and translates that into a cohesive plan that has no wasted spaces that will fit within the budget.

II Selections:
Once the design has been completed we spend a good amount of time specifying the materials that will go in to the house, from exterior finish materials to type and color of hinges on interior doors.

III Permitting:
After the plan has been fully approved with selections and the price has been agreed upon we file for the permits with the county/city building department. This process can take anywhere from 2 weeks to two months depending on county or city.

IV Construction:
Once permits are issued construction begins. Whether it is a full remodel, addition, or custom home, the process proceeds quickly. We strive to keep the client involved and apprised of the schedule. During this phase in the process we have multiple walk-throughs with the client to familiarize them with the inner workings of their home and to ensure everything selected is going in as expected.

V Final walk through:
Once construction is completed and the home has been completely inspected and “punched out” by our field superintendants we walk through the house with the client and open every door, pull every cabinet drawer, go through the homes mechanical systems and ensure everything is as the client expected. After this we take care of any issues within 7 days and turn over the keys.

VI Follow-up:
Within 6 months we return to the home to walk it one more time to inspect for any items that may come up with daily living. Within 1 year we return again to check for any drywall touch-up and ensure everything in the house is functioning properly.
